In the wake of the Corona-virus lockdown, mass unemployment and concern for public health illuminated a debate as old as the Industrial Revolution: health vs. the economy.

The cobra ripping the mask off of Laocoön resides in an artificial landscape constructed by illustrated flowers and details of one hundred Dollar bills. The snake mimics the serpent from the legend of Laocoön and His Sons, who was sent to kill the man for attempting to warn the Greeks of the Trojan horse.

Laocoön represents anyone form Anthony Fauci, to the essential workers keeping our grocery stores open, to the unemployed struggling to pay their rent.
